It doesn't seem that long ago that we met our friends the Brockbanks. They invited us to Lake Powell the summer of 02. We invited Laura and Jessica our nieces. Wasn't that nice of us. Actually Ken will tell you that I invited us to Lake Powell. He could be right. Nevertheless, it's where our long lasting friendship with the Brocks all began. We were going through an extremely difficult time in our life and they truly were a gift from God. My dad always said that through every trial, the Lord sends us a "Goodie". The Brocks were definitely ours. They showed us an amazing time and we were able to get our minds off of our troubles. Our families became so close and we have many fond memories of those numerous trips that we took with their family. Laura, Jessica and Jazzy became the best of friends. I'll always cherish our late night talks as we fell asleep under the stars. Boy trouble was always a topic of conversation with the girls. Of course Deb and I would give them our motherly advice. We had many adventures. Laura ran over Ken with the Wet Jet. We always loved watching the Brockbank boys including Ken put on their show. A Brockbank show of course always meant major air. Our favorite was watching the girls watch Dustin as he entertained us on Karaoke night. Steven Tyler had nothing over Dustin. Good times. We all became fast friends.
Jessica and Jazzy ended up going to Dixie together for a semester where Jazzy met Dustin. We all ended up at Melissa's birthday lunch together where Jazzy and Jess announced their engagements. Laura was shortly behind them and Melissa is still waiting for her knight and shinning armor to arrive. I know that he will! Jessica led the way and was married in August. Jazzy in September and Laura in November of 05. I think!! Jessica had a very spiritual experience in Jazzy's brother, Dustin's funeral that she was supposed to have a baby. It must have been very spiritual because we never thought that Jess would ever have children. She wasn't so fond of the idea. Jazzy soon after announced her pregnancy. Elyse Noel was born in February. Jayden(Jazzy's) was born in March and Laura's little boy will arrive in November.
I can't believe how some simple trips to Lake Powell ended up bringing us all together and how much we truly cherish our friendships with this amazing family. They have shared their toys and their love. (Kenny's toys are always the best) They have been such a blessing in our lives and we truly love them like our own family. Thanks for being our "Goodie" at such a very trying time.

Ah yes those were the best lake powell trips ever!! I'll never forget bunny running right over the top of ken's head and me and her looking for him in the water before he finally decided to pop up. lol Its so fun to all have each other.
