To Calfiornia for the funeral...

Mom, Cris, Elle and I left on Thursday morning to attend Rick's funeral. We also took Arch and Kiley's kids back. We were hoping to have them for a little longer. Noone really planned on Rick passing away so soon. We were fortunate to be able to spend some quality time with Kiley's family. We went to the funeral on Friday. Kiley's nephews had a very aggressive and competitive game of basketball that evening. Rick would have been thrilled to know that they were playing his favorite game. They definetely felt a void but were able to celebrate his life as he would have wanted them to. We attended the Newport Temple on Saturday morning and all headed to the beach for the rest of the afternoon. We felt so honored to spend this time with their family. We traveled to Arch & Kiley's after the beach. We visited, shopped and traveled back on Wednesday. What a bitter sweet trip. I am so happy that Rick is happy and free of pain but feel a huge loss for this wonderful family.
